MALTA, N.Y. — Will Hull likely enjoyed the most recent visit to Albany-Saratoga Speedway much more than his previous one.

The Plainfield, Vt. driver, who flipped on the frontstretch in the first USAC Dirt Midget Association event at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in June, claimed the win in the division’s 20-lap event on Friday at the four-tenths mile oval.

Hull started midway through the field and ran down race leader Derek O’Hearn shortly before midway point of the feature. From there, Hull opened a comfortable lead back to O’Hearn to cruise to thew in.

O’Hearn, of Bristol, N.H., settled for second after he led the first eight laps of the event. O’Hearn grabbed the lead just after the first turn in a darring three-wide, up-the-middle move past polesitter Brandon Emerson and second place Justin Phillips.

USAC Dirt Midget Association point leader Jason Goff stretched his point lead with a third place finish while Adam Whitney and former Midget champion Joe Krawiec completed the top-five finishers.

Second place point driver Seth Carlson finished sixth after he fell off the pace in the closing laps. Randy Higginson, David Moniz, Emerson, and Phillips completed the top-ten finishers.

The USAC Dirt Midget Association will continue their 2018 season at their “home” track, Bear Ridge Speedway, on Saturday, August 25.
