One of the beginning philosophies for the American-Canadian Tour style Late Model was to give the weekly racer an opportunity to have a race car that can be raced at multiple tracks that employ the same rules package.

You usually find these words having a technical motif to them, talking about the inner workings of a race car, breaking down a technical controversy, or discussing the latest rule changes happening around the region. But, today, it will take on a different theme.

A few weeks ago, I talked about how the most important aspect of racing is staying safe. And that fact was put into stone, in my opinion, at Riverside Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

We all remember exactly where we were ten years ago when we found out the tragic events of the September 11 terrorist attacks. I remember being in my middle school social studies class and the teacher turning the television on, standing there in disbelief and trying to explain to the class what had happened.

It’s a sad day to see that NASCAR has cancelled the Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale.
