Williams scores Modified win; Boucher sweeps Mini Stocks

WENTWORTH, N.H. – Ryan Avery made it work on the outside at Legion Speedway on Friday night.

The Campton, N.H. driver made a last-turn pass on leader Derek O’Hearn to steal the win in the second Peanuts Auto Sportsman Modified feature.

Avery put himself on O’Hearn’s back bumper on the white flag lap, and when O’Hearn went to protect the preferred inside lane, Avery powered around the outside and to the win.

The win for Avery was his second of the season.

O’Hearn, of Bristol, N.H., settled for second with Miller, of White River Junction, Vt., third. Jason Sanville and Ricky Sanville completed the top-five finishers.

Earlier in the evening, Robbie Williams of Plainfield, N.H. grabbed the win in the make-up feature event from the rained out July 1 event.

Williams got by leader Ricky Sanville early in the event and then cruised to the win.

Ricky Sanville, of Windsor, Vt., finished second with O’Hearn third. Allan Hammond and Avery completed the top-five finishers.

Tim Martin and Doug Boucher split the wins in the two Petro Mart of Enfield Super Street feature events.

Martin, of White River Junction, Vt., used an outside pass on leader Bob Crawford Jr. and second place Matt Pike to claim the win in the first Super Street event.

Point leader Crawford of Groton, N.H. finished second with Pike, of Warren, N.H., third. Doug Boucher and Scott Heath finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Boucher, of Grafton, N.H., drove past Crawford in the night cap to claim his first Super Street win of the season.

Crawford settled for second with Pike earning another third place finish. Heath finished fourth with Hunter Nutter fifth.

Matt Boucher of Grafton, N.H. swept both feature events for the Enfield Garage Outlaw Mini Stocks.

In the first feature, Boucher finished ahead of veteran driver Jack Cook of Moultonboro and Eric Castiglioni of Newport, N.H. on the podium. Sean Lantas and Jonathon Baker completed the top-five finishers.

In the nightcap, Boucher finished ahead of Lantas and Castigloni on the podium with Kurt Whiting and Aaron Bunker fourth and fifth.

Tanner Siemons of Orford, N.H. claimed the win in the 500cc Granite State Mini Sprint feature over Kyle Belliveau and Bob Griffin while Belliveau earned the win in the 600cc Granite State Mini Sprint feature over John Scarborough and Ben Bachand.

Legion Speedway hosts the Ryezak Oil Mid-Season Championships double-point counting night on Friday, July 15.
