MALTA, N.Y. — Jason Goff made a late race pass on Seth Carlson to win the USAC Dirt Midget Association feature on Friday night at Albany-Saratoga Speedway.

The Preston Hollow, N.Y. driver navigated around the inside lane of the four-tenths mile oval and past Carlson, who stayed glued to the outside of the track, in the late stages of the 25-lap event.

Goff, a former Modified driver at Lebanon Valley Speedway, started near the back of the 13-car field and moved steadily forward to the front. Once in the lead, he gathered a comfortable lead in short time and ran to the checkered flag.

Carlson, of Brimfield, Mass., settled for second with Justin Phillips of West Suffield, Conn. third. Vermont driver Adam Whitney finished fourth with second place USAC point driver Joe Krawiec fifth.

Derek O’Hearn, David Moniz, Manny Dias, Randy Higginson, and Brandon Emerson completed the top-ten finishers.

Heat race wins went to Jeff Champagne and Will Hull.

Hull, who is an ace in the Sprint Cars of New England, was involved in an early race incident that saw his Seals-It midget flip over at the exit of turn four after contact with another car. Hull was uninjured.

The USAC Dirt Midget Association will continue their season on Saturday, June 30 at Bear Ridge Speedway.
