WENTWORTH, N.H. – The Sprint Cars of New England kick off one of their busiest seasons yet on Friday, May 6 at Legion Speedway.

Their 21-race slate will see the series visit the three dirt tracks located in New England and will hold seven races each at Legion, Bear Ridge Speedway, and Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

Last season, Legion produce four different Sprint Cars of New England winners in six races. Series champion Dan Douville used a pair of early season Legion wins to help propel him to his second championship.

Luke Greenwood also notched the first two wins of his young Sprint Car career at Legion one year as he went back-to-back at Legion to close out the season. Multi-time series champion Chris Donnelly and Will Hull also grabbed Legion wins one year ago.

A full field of 360 Sprint Cars are expected for the Legion opener.

The Friday night opening event will also be the first of a full season schedule for Legion.

Promoter Dean Hanson announced in the offseason that Legion will transition from its Sunday midday timeslot to Friday nights in 2016. Legion’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Challenge will kick off with the Modifieds, Super Streets, and Mini Stocks.

Post time for Legion’s opening event is 7:00pm.
