THE JUICE: Bringing The ACTion South

THE JUICE: Bringing The ACTion South

PHOTO: Taking this ACT traffic jam to Florida would be a good thing, as far as we’re concerned. (Leif Tillotson photo) -by Justin St. Louis VMM Editor The American-Canadian Tour is something that most pure short track fans and racers have heard of, but only a very small fraction has seen. And most of that fraction is centered in rural Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Quebec. ACT Looking At Florida Speedweeks Debut

PHOTO: Patrick Laperle has competed successfully at New Smyrna Speedway before. Could he have a chance to do so in an ACT Late Model? (Marc Patrick Roy photo) WATERBURY — The American-Canadian Tour is examining the possibility of having a presence at Florida’s annual “Speedweeks” stock car racing extravaganza in February 2011, Vermont Motorsports Magazine has confirmed. THE JUICE: The Legacy (Series) Of Nick Sweet

PHOTO: Nick Sweet carrying a checkered flag is nothing new, but it’s awful strange to see him do it in an Allison Legacy Series car. (Alan Ward photo) -by Justin St. Louis VMM Editor It’s hard to believe that Sunday will be our first Oktoberfest at Lee USA Speedway. We love the open-comp shows with cars from all kinds of tracks running all kinds of rules and setups. From everything we’ve heard over the years, the Oktoberfest is one of the best open shows in New England. Plus, there’s a bit of a soft spot in this full-fendered heart...

McKennedy Clinches Modified Racing Series Title With Claremont Win

PHOTO: Jon McKennedy sealed up the Modified Racing Series championship a week early at Twin State Speedway. (Alan Ward photo) CLAREMONT, N.H. — If Jon McKennedy was to win his second-straight Modified Racing Series championship, he was going to have to make a push during the final three weeks of the season. Push he did. McKennedy went out and won the first two events of the final MRS swing, and after Sunday’s victory at Twin State Speedway the East Chelmsford, Mass., driver will enter the season finale at Lee USA Speedway with an insurmountable 61-point lead over Ascutney, Vt.’s...
