Pierson Night At Bear Ridge
BRADFORD — Adam, Gene, and Melvin Pierson made it a family affair at Bradford’s Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday night, each taking a podium finish in his feature race. Fairlee’s Adam Pierson, the 2006 track champion, defeated Gary Siemons — who is looking for his fourth-straight title — to win his second Sportsman Modified feature of the season. Siemons, of Orford, N.H., was the runner-up, followed by rookie Derek Graham of Woodsville, N.H., Jason Gray of East Thetford, and Bryan King of Corinth. Rookie Ryan Dutton scored his best finish in sixth place; Mike Dunn, Jeff Elliott, Mike Greene, Jr., and Jack Cook completed the top ten. East Corinth driver Gene Pierson, father of the Modified winner, took Sportsman Coupe checkers over King, and brother Melvin Pierson. Rookie Shane Race of South Strafford was fourth with Chris Carbee of South Ryegate fifth. Sprint Cars of New England rookie Danny Douville of Concord, N.H., earned his second Bear Ridge win of the season. Nick Berry of Ossipee, N.H., was the runner-up, with Mason, N.H., driver Shawn Lawler third. Will Hull of East Montpelier took down the Limited Late Model victory over Newbury’s Jeremy Hodge and Troy Comeau of Rumney, N.H., with Robert Tucker and Anthony Perkins rounding out the top ten.
