(From series press release)

BRADFORD — The Sprint Cars of New England pit area was abuzz on Saturday at Bear Ridge Speedway, where many new and returning racers with impressive credentials filled the pits. A SCoNE regular, albeit a rookie with an impressive record of championships in other dirt-racing disciplines, notched the victory as Dan Douville sliced through the field from a 11th starting position to his fourth SCoNE win of the year, and his third at Bear Ridge.

Defending SCoNE champion Tunk Berry, who hasn’t raced since June 20, returned to lead the field to green, but when the feature started, Donny Sharp, Jr., moved quickly into the first position. Berry fought back, though, retaking the lead on lap 5. One lap later, caution waved for Anthony Cain, who was making his second SCoNE start of 2010 and his first feature since an injury in an Empire Super Sprints event.

When the race resumed, Berry held on to the lead, but quickly coming through the field was Douville, who started 11th and sat fifth at the restart. By lap 7, Douville passed Nick Berry for fourth and on lap 12 he made his move on Sharp for third. Two laps later, he passed Kevin Chaffee for second. By the next lap, lap 14, Douville took the lead away from Tunk Berry and went on to win his fourth feature of 2010. Chaffee, driving his sixth different chassis of the year, finished runner-up while Tunk Berry, would have to settle for third.
