CLAREMONT, N.H. -- Chris Wilk had a strong showing at Twin State Speedway’s Fall Challenge, winning a pair of feature events at the track’s annual season finale.
Vermont drivers won seven of the 11 feature events during the weekend. Wilk, of Mendon, narrowly beat Barry Gray of Belchertown, Mass., to win the open-competition Pro Stock feature, then continued his season-long dominance of the track’s Super Street division, winning over Allen Fellows of Croydon, N.H., and East Thetford’s Chris McKinstry. Wilk’s victories were his 18th and 19th of the season across three tracks.
Rutland’s Dallas Trombley earned his second victory of the year in the Late Model class over Aaron Fellows and Donnie Lashua; Wilk also competed, finishing sixth.
Devil’s Bowl Speedway champion Don Miller of Wells won a special dirt-style Sportsman Modified event over Jessey Mueller of Pottersville, N.Y., and Bear Ridge Speedway’s Ryan Dutton of Bradford.
McKinstry also ran in the Northeast Mini Stock Tour feature and picked up his seventh victory of his rookie season with the series. Emerson Cayer of Contoocook, N.H., was second with Oxford Plains Speedway competitor Calvin Rose, Jr., of Turner, Me., third.
Thunder Road Late Model champion Nick Sweet of Barre continued a recent hot streak in the Allison Legacy North Race Series with his second-straight victory. James Logan of Dighton, Mass., recovered from a major crash on Saturday to finish second on Sunday, with Kyle Poodiack of Bennington, N.H., third.
Jeremiah Losee of North Springfield earned his tenth Wildcat Enduro victory of the year on Saturday night over Robert Leitch of Cavendish and Dickie Houle of West Brattleboro.
Other feature winners were Aaron Fellows (Pepsi Modified), Brian Martin of Goshen, N.H. (Strictly Stock), and Robby Bryant (Northeast Classic Lite Dwarf Cars).
Jon McKennedy of East Chelmsford, Mass., won the Modified Racing Series event, clinching that series’ championship for the second year in a row.
