Park To Race ARCA At Rockingham For Vermont Team

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- Driver Steve Park and Vermont-based NDS Motorsports have entered the American 200 presented by Black's Tire & Auto Service at Rockingham Speedway on Saturday, October 9, the season finale for the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards.
Park, of East Northport, N.Y., was a winner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Rockingham in 2001. He will reunite with car owner Robert Torriere in the No. 53 Coastal Wire Ford; Torriere’s team is based in Georgia, Vt., and is led by crew chief and former Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl driver Sam Caron of Colchester.
Park previously drove for the team on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East from 2006-09, running the series full-time in their final two seasons together; the pairing produced a win at Adirondack Speedway and finished fifth in series points in 2009. NDS Motorsports has K&N East and West victories with Andrew Ranger this season on the road courses at Lime Rock and Infineon.
“[Torriere] had bought a car from Jack Roush and wanted to run some ARCA races. Unfortunately, time prevailed and the only time they could get the car ready was for the last race of the year,” Park said in an ARCA press release. “He may want to run some next year, though.”
Park has raced in a handful of K&N East and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events in 2010 with other teams, and is also a driving instructor at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
