New Hampshire Int'l Speedway Preview
NASCAR K&N Pro Series East
Matt Kobyluck - #40 Mohegan Sun Casino Chevrolet
At Gresham Motorsports Park, a late-practice wreck put Matt Kobyluck in a backup car, which forced him to start in the rear of the field. The driver of the No. 40 Mohegan Sun Casino Chevrolet drove it to a fifth-place finish, and also took home the Coca-Cola Move of the Race Award for finishing 12 positions better than where he qualified.
This weekends race will mark Matt Kobyluck's 177th NASCAR K&N Pro Series East career start and his 30th start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. At the 1.058-mile oval, Kobyluck has led a total of 97 laps, earned one pole award, posted six top-five and nine top-10 finishes. His average start there is 11th and his average finish is 20th.
Kobyluck sits sixth in the points with only two races remaining. He is currently eight points behind fifth place driver Ryan Gifford and only holds a 73 point deficit from third place in the point standings.
The Mohegan Sun race team will be bringing car #12 with them to NHMS. It's their primary car for this track and it has won at Nashville Speedway in the past. It was also the car they ran at Gresham Motorsports Park.
Matt on what his biggest challenge will be in the New England 125:
“There are many strong competitors but my biggest challenge will simply be the track! We have a long history together and she hasn't been all that nice to me so this Friday I will put all that behind me and just dig in and get a finish that is representative of my team's talent and effort."
Matt on his goal's for the remainder of the season:
"My goal is to finish in the top 3. It will take two solid top five finishes to accomplish that which is well within our reach."
