The American-Canadian Tour added sixteen drivers to the list of invitees for next week’s second annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Tuesday.

The race is set for Saturday, Sept. 18, as part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Sylvania 300 weekend. ACT announced the first twenty invitees last week.

Joining the initial list are Vermonters Phil Scott, Joey Laquerre, and Jean-Paul Cyr, New Hampshire’s Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Maine racers Brad Babb, Shawn Martin, and brothers Glen and Scott Luce, Massachusetts racer Jeff Zuidema, Connecticut’s Jeff Smith, Rich Staskowski of Rhode Island, Mark Lamberton of New York, Quebec’s Jean-Francois Dery and Patrick Hamel, and Ontario drivers Justin Holtom and Larry Jackson.

“This has been one of the most difficult jobs I have had in the racing business,” said ACT president Tom Curley in a press release. “We had 71 teams test and they all did a great job. They really are all deserving of being part of the 43 team starting grid. That is the problem; there are only 43 spots for 71 worthy teams.”

Of the first twenty drivers invited last week, one -- Waterford (Conn.) Speedbowl competitor Tim Jordan -- reportedly declined his offer citing a lack of funds, bringing the total to 35 confirmed teams. The final invitations will be announced on Monday, Sept. 13.
