Modified Racing Series Beech Ridge Bound

SCARBOROUGH, Me. -- With nine winners in ten races, a three-way battle developing for the series championship, and eight races remaining on
the 2010 schedule, the Modified Racing Series, sponsored by BobValentiAutoMall.com, heads to Scarborough, Me., Saturday night, Aug. 7, to the historic Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the sixth annual "Beech Ridge 100."
Defending series champion Jon McKennedy of East Chelmsford, Mass., takes a slim seven-point lead into Beech Ridge, a race he won a year ago, with 2006 champion Dwight Jarvis of Ascutney, Vt., hot on his heels. Windsor Locks, Conn., veteran Les Hinckley has slipped to third, 18 points back. All three are entered.
Maine race fans can expect to see two local drivers compete in this weekend’s event.
David Pinkham of Buxton, Me., winner of the Beech Ridge race in 2005, is expected to enter driving for Auburn, Me., car owner Tom Greeley. Sanford, Me., driver Jacob Dore, the 2009 Koszela Speed Rookie of the Year, is also entered driving his family owned and prepared racer.
Recent winner Eric Goodale of Wading River, N.Y., has entered the event. It will be Goodale’s first time at Beech Ridge. He’ll be joined by veterans Rob Goodenough, of Swanzey, N.H., Carl Pasteryak of Jewett City, Conn., Jack Bateman of Canaan, N.H., Mike Holdridge of Madison, Conn., and Eddy Spiers of Beacon Falls, Conn.
Young hot shoes Steven Masse of Bellingham, Mass., Geoff Gernhard of Salem, Conn., Todd Annarummo of Swansea, Mass., Max Zachem of Preston, Conn., and Joey Jarvis of Ascutney, Vt., are expected. Zachem and Jarvis both graduated from high school in June.
Race time is 6:00pm. Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is located on 70 Holmes Rd. in Scarborough, Maine.
