Montoya Wins Lenox 301 Pole At New Hampshire
LOUDON, N.H. -- Juan Pablo Montoya backed up a strong practice session with by winning the pole for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 -- his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole of the season -- at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Montoya’s #42 Target Chevrolet, the car that won the early afternoon practice, timed in at the 1.058-mile oval in 28.781 seconds at an average speed of 132.337 mph.
Kasey Kahne will start on the outside Montoya on the front row in Sunday’s Lenox 301 in the #9 Budweiser Ford, with a lap of 28.820 seconds at 132.158 mph. Kurt Busch, Mark Martin, and Ryan Newman completed the top five qualifiers, with David Reutimann, Joe Nemechek, Sam Hornish, Jr., Clint Bowyer, and Jimmie Johnson rounding out the top ten.
