Pennink Best of Modified East-West
Malta, N.Y. -- Modified Racing Series driver Rowan Pennink of Huntington Valley, Pa., overcame a cut tire on lap three and came back to win the East-West Showdown 100 at Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Friday night. The race was co-sanctioned by the Modified Racing Series, sponsored by the BobValentiAutomall.com and the Race of Champions DART Asphalt Series.
RoC driver Pete Brittain of Oakhurst, N.J., led the first 47 laps before fellow Roc racer Earl Paules of Palmerton, Pa., took over. Pennink led the final 24 laps before taking his second career Modified Racing Series win.
Sean Bodreau of Claremont, N.H., finished third ahead of Les Hinckley and Rob Goodenough.
MacDonald Wins Again at Oxford
OXFORD, Me. -- Eddie MacDonald is considered the man to beat every time he races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and with four wins there since 2008 he’s earned that recognition. Rolfe Beating Cancer, Winning Races
OXFORD, Me. -- As Ricky Rolfe pulls into technical inspection at Oxford Plains Speedway, it appears to be business as usual. The 46 year-old from nearby Albany Township is a multi-time champion at the track and is among the all-time winners, surely winning a 12-lap qualifying heat is no big deal.
But on Sunday, it was a big deal. Rolfe begins his first round of chemotherapy for colon cancer at 7:00 on Monday morning. Full Story
