Former Milk Bowl Winner LaJoie Fails Drug Test, Suspended

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Former two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Randy LaJoie failed a NASCAR drug test and has been indefinitely suspended by the sanctioning body in violation of its substance abuse policy. LaJoie has also been indefinitely suspended by ESPN, the broadcast company he works for as an analyst for Nationwide Series events and the “NASCAR Now” program.

LaJoie, a native of Norwalk, Conn., won the 1984 Vermont Milk Bowl at Barre’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl. Read Full Story

Andrews Wires Thunder Road Win

Leif Tillotson photoBARRE -- Tony Andrews had a bit of a scare on Sunday night at Barre’s Thunder Road, but held on -- through the infield -- for his first Late Model win of the season.

Andrews, of Northfield, led all 50 laps of the Harvest Equipment Father’s Day event, but spun through the frontstretch grass with just six laps remaining as Cody Blake’s lapped car leaked power steering fluid on the track surface directly in front of Andrews. Read Full Story
