Waitsfield racer Folsom earned his first Late Model victory of the season in the Safelite Auto Glass 50 at Barre’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Thursday night. Folsom started on the pole position and led every lap, but his victory celebration was interrupted by a fire under the hood of his No. 81 Gauvin Masonry/Myers Containers Chevrolet. Read Full Story

BARRE --
It wasn’t necessarily a matter of being in the right place at the right time for Joey Becker at Thunder Road on Thursday. He knew he was getting to the front.

The Jeffersonville veteran won a fifty-lap, survival-of-the-fittest Late Model event, withstanding six restarts as the leader and holding on for his first victory since May 2007. Read Full Story

Lowrey Earns Thunder Road Win

BARRE -- Rich Lowrey earned his first Late Model win of the season at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday night. The Charlotte driver came from sixth at the start to take the lead from hometown rookie Cody Blake at the halfway mark of the 50-lap Casella Waste Management event, two laps after Blake and leader Brooks Clark tangled in turn four.

Lowrey survived a final restart on lap 29, then held off runner-up Nick Sweet of Barre for the win. Northfield’s Matt White, Phil Scott of Montpelier, and Blake rounded out the top five finishers, followed by point leader Dave Pembroke, Reno Gervais, Cris Michaud, John Donahue, and Joey Becker.
