OXFORD, Maine --
Pro All Stars Series promoter Tom Mayberry has reached an agreement to purchase Oxford Plains Speedway from current owner and promoter Bill Ryan. According to the Pro All Stars Series press release, Mayberry’s purchase will become effective on Monday, October 15th and will pick up full operations of the track office and facilities on November 1st.

“Obviously, I grew up attending races at Oxford Plains and eventually was able to race there myself,” Mayberry stated in a release by Pro All Stars Series. “We hope we can continue the great tradition at Oxford and are looking forward to a bright future. I’m looking forward to working with the competitors and the fans and I hope to have their support.”

"I am extremely happy to announce that I have entered into an agreement to sell Oxford Plains Speedway to Tom Mayberry," Ryan was quoted in a release by the track. "Tom is a superb promoter and has great ideas and passion and will undoubtedly continue the success that we have had over the years. I am confident that under Tom's leadership the Speedway will thrive."

The Oxford 250 will revert back to a Super Late Model event and will be run on July 19th, 20th, and 21st, 2013 under Pro All Stars Series sanction. The event changed to its current Late Model-car format in 2007 under Ryan.

Mayberry has tentatively set Oxford’s 2013 season opener for April 20. The full season schedule will be completed by December 1, and had stated they will let the competitors know about rules and divisions by approximately November 5.

American-Canadian Tour president Tom Curley responded to an email from Vermont Motorsports Magazine Sunday evening.

"I just heard about the sale from Bill Ryan," Curley stated in the email. "Obviously, (I'm) disappointed, but I know Bill has wanted to sell for a few years.

"I have learned over the years that with every disappointment in life, there are usually other opportunities. We are and will continue to put schedules together for 2013."
