MONTMAGNY, Que. --
Reigning Serie ACT champion Alex Labbe made a pass with less than two laps remaining on Saturday night at Autodrome Montmagny to claim his fourth win of the season.

The St-Albert, Que. driver worked to the inside of leader Donald Theetge on the exit of turn two on lap 148 and then came out on top of a side-by-side battle with the former champion. Labbe had restarted to the outside of Theetge following a lap 141 restart, but settle in behind.

Theetge stuck his No. 80 car to the bottom on the entry of turn one, but Labbe used a higher entry and “diamonded” the corner in the middle, allowing him to exit turn two lower than Theetge. That move allowed the No. 48 Larue Industrial Snowblowers Ford to get to Theetge’s inside and earn the win.

Despite missing two races this season to compete with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Labbe hasn’t missed a beat as he has earned wins in more than half of the races he’s competed in and has finished inside the top-ten in all seven of his starts.

Theetge, of Boischatel, Que., posted his best finish of the 2015 season with a runner-up effort. Former series champion Jean-Francois Dery of Quebec, Que., closed his championship deficit to point leader Dany Trepanier with a third place finish. Martin Goulet Jr. and Patrick Hamel completed the top-five finishers.

Sixth through tenth went to Eric St. Gelais, Patrick Boyer, Patrick Cliché, Trepanier, and Simon Roussin.

Serie ACT will return to racing action on Saturday, September 12 in a 200-lap combination event with the ACT Late Model Tour at Autodrome Chaudiere. The Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models will also compete for 200 laps at the quarter-mile Quebec oval.
