Fourteen tracks make up both schedules; three new venues

WATERBURY, Vt. --
American-Canadian Tour officials have released the schedules for both the ACT United States Late Model Series and the ACT Castrol Series. Both schedules will feature fourteen tracks among four states and one Canadian province.

The United States-based Late Models will see their schedule increase by four races to 14 total, and will return to three venues in 2013. Star Speedway in Epping, N.H., joins Riverside Speedway in Groveton, N.H., and Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., as new venues, and each track will host a 150-lap race.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., and Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., will both see an additional ACT race added to their schedules in 2013.

Devil’s Bowl will first host the Spring Green 113 on Sunday, May 5. The Late Models will return to the half-mile oval on Sunday, July 28 for a 150-lap event. Airborne will host the Late Models for a 100-lap race on Saturday, May 18, and then will host the season finale on Saturday, September 28.

Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H., will kick the American-Canadian Tour season off on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, with a 150-lap event. Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine will host a 150-lap Late Model event on Saturday, August 17.

Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., will again host two Late Model events, while White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H., will host the Late Model tour once.

Two combination events will be held again in 2013 between the ACT US Late Model Series and the ACT Castrol Series. Sanair Super Speedway in Ste-Pie, Que., will host a combination event, extended from 100 laps to 150 laps, on Saturday, August 3. Circuit Riverside Speedway in Ste-Croix, Que., will once again host the CanAm 200 on Saturday, August 24.

The ACT Castrol series will see an 11-race schedule with Autodrome Montmagny and Autodrome Ste-Eustache each hosting three events. Circuit Riverside Speedway will host two additional events for the ACT Castrol Series.

Autodrome Chaudiere, which was presumed to be off the schedule after new ownership took control of the speedway, will host the ACT Castrol Series on Friday night, July 5, for a 150-lap event.

American-Canadian Tour president Tom Curley stated in an email to Vermont Motorsports Magazine Thursday afternoon that there were compromises between the American-Canadian Tour, the ACT track promoters, and Autodrome Chaudiere that put Autodrome Chaudiere back on the ACT Castrol schedule.

Curley also stated that there will be no Showdown this. The event, which was held at Chaudiere, was a non-point counting combination event.

“There will be no Showdon this season as both the Castrol and US schedules are very full,” Curley stated, “and we feel very positive about the 2013 race season.”
