Dunn Takes First Bear Ridge Win

- Justin St. Louis on 06 Jun 2010

Alan Ward photoBRADFORD -- It’s usually a tall order to jump into a racecar and be successful immediately, especially a dirt Modified. Apparently no one told Mike Dunn.

The North Haverhill, N.H., driver finished third in championship points at Bear Ridge Speedway in 2009, handily winning Rookie of the Year honors. Saturday night he took his career one step further by dominating a 30-lap feature at the track, earning his first main event win.

Dunn’s focus has been on going to the track simply to have fun, but winning may have changed his drive. “I have the same amount of fun every week no matter how I finish, and I didn’t think it could get any better,” Dunn said, “but this is something I want to do every week now.” Read Full Story

Dragon Family Headed Back To Bear Ridge

- Justin St. Louis on 03 Jun 2010

Alan Ward photoBRADFORD -- Vermont's most famous racing family returns to Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday night as the Dragons race on the dirt. Patriarchs Harmon "Beaver" Dragon and his brother Bobby will join their sons, Brent and Scott, for a family showdown.

Bobby Dragon won last year's inaugural event as Beaver and Brent played a last-lap game of bumper tag. "I think this year we've got to remind Beaver that the guys that own these cars have to race them after we're done and he shouldn't try to tear them all up like last year," Bobby laughed.
