Streeter leads way in Street Stock Mini Milk Bowl

BARRE – David Finck showed he hasn’t forgotten how to get around Thunder Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Barre driver dominated the 30-lap Bond Auto Parts Tiger Sportsman segment to claim an easy win. It was also his first start of the 2016 season.

Finck started on the pole position after he set the fastest lap in the group time trial qualifying. He then ran away with the win in the first segment and was unchallenged throughout. Finck was able able to hand on through a late race restart.

Cameron Ouellette finished second from a seventh place starting spot with Brendan Moodie third. Trevor Lyman continued his hot start in his return to Tiger Sportsman competition with a fourth place finish while former Tiger champion Jason Woodard completed the top-five finishers.

Joe Steffen, Street Stock graduate Jaden Perry, Brian Delphia, Joey Laquerre, and Tiger champion Stephen Donahue finished sixth through tenth.

Kevin Streeter of Waitsfield won segment number won of the 25-lap Allen Lumber Street Stock feature.

Streeter took the lead from Nick Pilotte on a lap five restart and drove away to the segment win.

Nick Pilotte of Jefferson, N.H. finished second behind the wheel of the car normally driven by Kasey Beattie in the Daredevil division at Speedway 51 after he started on the pole position. Brandon Gray of East Thetford finished third after he started on the outside pole position.

Peyton Lanphear and Cooper Bouchard finished fourth and fifth while Thomas Merchant, Mike Gay, Jamie Davis, Al Maynard, and William Hennequin completed the top-ten finishers.

Street Stock driver Reilly Lanphear was involved in a late race incident in the Street Stock segment that saw her make hard contact with the frontstretch wall. Her car continued down pit road and she was able to make her way back to her designated pit area, but medical assistance was requested immediately following the event. She was speaking to medical personnel at the track and transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for observation. A report indicated she had been released as of Saturday night.

The second segments for the Mini Milk Bowls for the Tiger Sportsman and Street Stocks will take place during the 54th Northfield Savings Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday. Post time is set for 1:00pm with the Late Model last chance qualifier going green at 12:15pm.
