BRADFORD – Steven Flint and Stan Otterman scored their first career wins on Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway.

Flint, of East Orange, won the shortened 30-lap Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modified feature. The feature was stopped twice by race officials for persistent caution flags before it was resumed with a shortened distance.

The win was a first for Flint in Sportsman Modified competition in his sophomore season.

North Haverhill, N.H. driver Mike Dunn finished second with Bear Ridge rookie Todd Buckwold of Orange, N.H. third. Point leader Adam Pierson and rookie James Fadden completed the top-five finishers while sixth through tenth was scored Lenny Pillsbury, Richie Simmons, Thomas Kimball, Josh Currier, and rookie Trevor Rocke.

The West Topsham driver held off a late race charge from Earl Maxham, who piloted the car normally driven by Tim Hodge as he continues to recuperate from a street automobile accident. Maxham, of Enfield, N.H., settled for second with Matt Ellsworth of Corinth finished third.

Michael Danforth and former champion Jason Colbeth finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while Thomas Placey, Brian Chaffee, Jason Horniak, Mike Chaffee, and Mitchell Frost completed the top-ten finishers.

Hometown driver Derrick Stearns posted his first win of the season in the 20-lap Mike Rivers Automotive Limited Late Model feature.

Point leader Tim Martin of White River Junction finished second with Wayland Childs third. T.J .Morse and Don Reynolds completed the top-five finishers.

Jesse Durkee of South Royalton scored his fourth Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinder feature win of the season over Charlie Lakin, Mike Ryan, Buddy Welch, and Danny Doyle.

Bear Ridge continues its 2016 race season on Saturday, August 27 with Dead River Oil Co. night. Post time is set for 6:00pm.
