WENTWORTH, N.H. – There was plenty of hot action on a sultry Friday Night as it was Ryezak Oil Mid-Season Championship night.  With Double Points and extra laps on tap for all of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Challenge Divisions it made for some tremendous action.

In the Peanuts Auto Sportsman Modifieds Allan Hammond jumped into the lead from the outside pole position at the drop of the green, pulling fourth place starter Jason Sanville with him.  The pair ran this way until the second caution of the night flew with 29 laps in the books. On the restart Sanville blasted into the lead from the outside with Derek O’Hearn claiming the second spot. Jason Sanville survived one more caution that occurred with just 2 laps remaining to claim his third Victory of the season. Derek O’Hearn finished a strong second with Ryan Avery, nursing a severely overheating power plant, finishing in the third position. Early Leader Allan Hammond was fourth with Robbie Williams fifth at the line.

When the Petro Mart of Enfield Super Streets hit the track and part time runner JP Vaillancourt is in the field the rest of the competitors know it is going to be tough to capture the Checkers. Vaillancourt, whose job keeps him from running full time, is now four for five on the season after capturing the Ryezek Oil Mid-Season Championship. It only took Vaillancourt, who started in the seventh position, ten laps to move to the front, taking the lead from rapidly improving rookie Hunter Nutter. The lead duo would remain the same for the rest of the 30 Lap grind with Vaillancourt taking the win and Hunter Nutter a career best second with Matt Pike claiming third. Doug Boucher and Travis Smith completed the top five.

Danny Doyle made his first start of the Season in the Enfield Garage Outlaw Mini Stocks a great one as he ended up claiming the win in the extra distance event. Mike Lique took the lead at the drop of the green, leading the initial eight laps before Mike Ryan moved to the front. Ryan maintained the lead until pitting under caution with only four laps remaining. This handed the lead to Matt Boucher. Boucher’s lead didn’t last long as just one lap later after another caution Danny Doyle moved into the lead and ran to the win. Aaron Bunker made a last lap pass to finish second with Boucher slipping to third. Sean Lantas crossed the line fourth with Jack Cook fifth.

This Friday night, July 22nd all the cars and stars of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Challenge will once again be in action. The Bear Ridge Speedway Sportsman Coupes will be the added attraction along with an Enduro.

The Legion Speedway goes to post every Friday night at 7:00PM and is located on Route 25 at the Wentworth/Rumney NH Town line.
