Laperle ties Theetge on all-time Serie ACT wins list

VALLEE-JONCTION, Quebec – Patrick Laperle continued his fast Serie ACT Quebec start on Saturday night at Autodrome Chaudiere as he claimed his second straight series win.

The St-Denis, Que., driver started on the pole position but was forced to contend with fellow former series champion Donald Theetge for the lead early in the event.

Laperle and Theetge traded the lead during a midrace side-by-side battle, and when Laperle came out in front, Theetge continued to maintain pressure on Laperle’s rear bumper.

The win for Laperle was the 21st of his Serie ACT career, which ties him for first on the series all-times wins list with Theetge.

Theetge, of Boischatel, Que., finished second. Former Serie ACT champion Alex Labbe of St-Albert, Que., drove from a 21st place starting spot to finish third. Jonathan Bouvrette and Jean-Francois Dery completed the top-five finishers.

Michael Lavoie, defending champion Dany Trepanier, Simon Roussin, Philippe Poulin, and Dave Coursol finished sixth through tenth, respectively.

Serie ACT will take a near month-long break and will resume their season on Saturday, June 25 at Autodrome Montmagny for a 100-lap event.
