GROVETON, N.H. – Speedway 51 is gearing up for its second season of racing with a 16-race slate that includes numerous touring series and special events.
The first green flag of the season will take place on Saturday, May 28 with the first appearance of the Valenti Modified Racing Series at the bullring oval. The 100-lap event will the third race on the 2016 schedule for the Canaan, N.H.-based touring series.
The ACT Late Model Tour will make an appearance at Speedway 51 on Saturday, June 18 for the Lil Joey Generation Next 151. The Granite State Pro Stock Series will help celebrate the Fourth of July on Saturday, July 2 at Speedway 51.
The Northeast Midget Association will make two appearances at Speedway 51 in 2016, first on Saturday, July 30 and then again on Saturday, August 27. The North East Mini Stock Tour will do the same, also, with appearances on Saturday, August 6 and again on Saturday, September 10.
The North East Street Stock Tour will make an appearance on Saturday, August 27.
The Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association will make an appearance on Saturday, June 11.
The Mid-Season Double point counting championship event will have significant championship implications for the four weekly Speedway 51 divisions, which will take place on Saturday, July 23.
The 2016 championship season will conclude on Saturday, September 17 and the track will crown its champions in its weekly Late Model, Tiger Sportsman, Street Stock, and Dare Devil divisions, as well as the semi-regular Pure Stock division.
The always popular Fall Brawl Late Model event will take place on Saturday, October 8.
The 2016 season will unofficially kickoff on Saturday, May 21 with a car show to be held in downtown Groveton and open practice day at the quarter-mile oval.
