OXFORD, Me. — Just call Oxford Plains Speedway “Eddie’s House.”

Eddie MacDonald cleaned up at the Maine oval for the second time in a month, winning the 150-lap American-Canadian Tour Late Model event there on Saturday night. The Rowley, Mass., driver, a regular on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, is now two-for-two in ACT this year, having also won the WJAB 150 at Oxford in May in his only other appearance with the series in 2010.

MacDonald battled for the lead with defending ACT Late Model Tour champion Brian Hoar of Williston before taking the lead for good on lap 106 and cruising to the win. The victory was the third of MacDonald’s ACT career; his first ACT win came at Oxford in 2007, and he also won the open-competition TD Bank 250 at the track last July.

Per usual, MacDonald was quick to credit crew chief Rollie LaChance for the win.

“Rollie really has the setup for this place figured out, and we were lucky in traffic tonight,” MacDonald said. “Brian was fast all race long, but I had a chance to sneak by, and the car stuck. It’s been great to win both ACT races here this spring. Now, we’ll focus on defending our crown in the 250 next month.”

Multi-time Oxford champion Ricky Rolfe of Albany Township, Me., finished second, followed by Buckfield, Me., racer T.J. Brackett and Corey Morgan of Lewiston, Me., who each posted career-best ACT finishes. Hoar faded to fifth.

The top-ten was completed by Tommy Ricker, Brent Dragon, Tim Brackett, Jeff White, and rookie Austin Theriault. Hoar, Dragon, and Theriault were the only full-time ACT competitors inside the top-ten.
