CANAAN, N.H. --
Modifieds will soon blast through the cold and snowy weather conditions and be back on the track to greet the fans in the stands once again. For the 11th consecutive season the Valenti Modified Racing Series has an action packed schedule with some of the best Modified drivers that New England has to offer.

This offseason has shown that the upcoming campaign could be the best in series history. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour star Justin Bonsignore will drive the famed Art Barry owned No. 21 full-time with the Valenti Modified Racing Series in 2014. Barry, whose teams have won championships with both the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and Valenti Modified Racing Series, will return to full-time competition after the team scaled back to a part-time effort in 2013. The 26-year-old Bonsignore is expected to contend for the series championship.

The defending champion Rowan Pennink will return to defend his title crown after he scored three victories a year ago. Pennink will return to the controls of the Gary Casella-owned Roscoe Racing No. 25 and is once again expected to challenge for the championship.

Former series champions Chris Pasteryak and Dwight Jarvis lead the list of drivers that have so far filed entries, which includes Steve Masse, Louie Mechalides and Richard Savary. Norm Wrenn and Max Zachem have also filed entries, hoping to score their first career series wins in 2014.

Warren Alston will take the role of chief starter in 2014, taking the spot that was left vacated by Rich Keator following last season. Alston, a former NASCAR K&N Pro Series official, will bring a long and storied history to the series in multiple capacities. The tour will also Robert Rund, who has prior experience at Seekonk Speedway in the scoring tower.

The tour has once again assembled a top notch schedule for the 2014 season. Waterford Speedbowl will kick-off the season in late March, as part of the annual Blastoff weekend on March 29 and 30. Waterford has also added a third Valenti Modified Racing Series date to their schedule, filling the vacated spot left open by Seekonk Speedway on Finale weekend of October 4 and 5. Seekonk will see the Valenti Modified Racing Series open their weekly schedule on May 4, as well as appearances on June 7 and August 16.

The mighty Modifieds will run three events at Stafford Motor Speedway during the season, with visits scheduled for June 20, July 18 and August 29. Two events will be held at Thompson CT Speedway, the first on May 29 and the second as part of the World Series of Speedway Racing Finale on October 18.

The series will also visit Monadnock Speedway three times on April 19, July 5 and August 24. Airborne Speedway will host the series on September 5 and 6 as a big purse combination event with the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour.
