PIERMONT, N.H. --
The Sprint Cars of New England members elected a new Board of Directors on Saturday, December 6 during a club meeting and saw driver Will Hull become the new Chairman of the Board.

Members of the board include drivers Chris Donnelly, Clay Dow, Dan Douville, and Hull, as well as longtime series supporter Penny Sawyer. Hull will take control of the day-to-day operations of the Sprint Cars of New England from Mike Kondrat, who will pursue a return to the driver’s seat.

Kondrat took control of the series in 2004 and proceeded to build the club into one of the fastest growing series in New England. Kondrat appeared to step out of the leadership role prior to the 2013 season, but re-engaged when a spot became vacated on the newly elected Board of Directors.

Hull, of East Montpelier, Vt., moved into the Sprint Cars of New England in 2011 after he won the Limited Late Model championship at Bear Ridge Speedway. He has earned two career wins with the Sprint Car tour.

Donnelly, Douville, and Dow are three of the series’ top drivers, with Donnelly and Douville earning the last four championships between them.

Prior to the election of a new Board of Directors, Kondrat led a meeting that saw the members discuss many topics, including the 2015 schedule. The series has an unidentified number of races already scheduled for Bear Ridge Speedway and Legion Speedway, and are working on dates at Devil’s Bowl Speedway and Albany-Saratoga Speedway. Members also discussed the series to bring back the Triple Crown weekend event, typically held during Labor Day Weekend.

Kondrat also stated that a show car is nearing completion and suggested that it could lead to the return of the SCoNE Guest Driver program. The program saw drivers of different disciplines, including ACT champions Brian Hoar and Phil Scott, Speedway Illustrated publisher Karl Fredrickson, and multi-time Bear Ridge champion Adam Pierson.

Numerous rule changes were discussed and will be finalized at a later time. A potential race procedure change relating to double file restarts will also be finalized by the Board of Directors.
